At the Wana Sandat Lifestyle Residential Resort we want to embrace the culture and surroundings whilst living in Bali, to create a living community that it is interactive, culturally sensitive, sociable and friendly. Our belief is that social isolation and lack of mental stimulation leads to poor health. We believe you retirement is the prime time for you to enjoy a fulfilling lifestyle.
“Wana” derives from the Hindu word Wanaprasta which is the the 3rd stage of life. Developed through the Hindu belief in “Catur Asram” the stages consist of:
1. Brahmacari – the stage in life where we go from Baby to adolescent and master knowledge and experience and create our identity. This stage is expected to take up a quarter of our lives
2. Grahasta - Once our identity is established, the next stage is our obligation to build a family, educate the children and to create material wealth for future generations through our working life
3.Wanaprasta - When the family has been provided for in all areas, then we need to practice Wanaprasta, i.e. to increase content in our lives, time for a rest and change from daily routines.
4.Bhisuka - To impart all knowledge learned by us to others who are still at the earlier stages
In the western world a similar terminology is becoming ever increasingly used The "Third Age”. This the time in life when your career may be coming to an end, and/or parental and caring responsibilities have lessened. Third-agers have more time to explore new opportunities – both educational and social and what better place than Bali where it is affordable to pursue new interests and activities.
The Third Age is now considered by many to be the “golden years” of adulthood. It is generally defined as the span of time between retirement and the beginning of age-imposed physical, emotional, and cognitive limitations.
The “Sandat” is the preferred Flower for the Balinese offerings and flourishes all year round. The Wana Sandat has therefore been chosen as the name of our Lifestyle Resort to depict the cultural influences and to emphasise the important stage of life to break free from life’s routine, enjoy the hard earned money and flourish every day in a caring environment that offers new life experiences.
Our logo uses the tree to symbolize the tree of life. The trunk represents our Residents vibrancy and the colourful flower represent the different and fulfilling life experiences that will be provided at The Wana Sandat Nusa Dua during your retirement in Bali.
